Casper resident Jim Nations is hosting this event for parents, students and others to
participate in a public forum to review the NGSS first-hand and discuss the pros and cons
of the controversial national standards in life sciences, physical sciences and Earth and
space sciences.

“There have been many opinions expressed both in favor of and against NGSS,” says
Nations, “but it seemed to me few people on either side have actually looked at the
proposed standards. These standards contain significant errors of fact that are inconsistent
with the intended purpose of improving science education in Wyoming schools. I am
hosting this open house as a science professional and concerned parent for all interested
parties to examine and discuss the implications of NGSS in Wyoming schools.”
